on February 22, I discovery a French article call “ how shut the Quebec Mouth” ( french article); in the particular context of Olympic winter game, I chose to keep for me this sever and aggressive ( the word is very hard and violent ) text by a French guys of BC. Yesterday, during the news paper review of The RDI (French Canadian news now similar to CBC news now) morning show, a journalist has presented this article from liberation.fr. It still felt a hint of irritation or revolt presenter but also a small dose of humour. Even if this article same very hard and with verbal abuse, the article focus (reveal ) a certain reality. The Pauline Marois (leader of separatist and of “parti quebecois”) accentuates that part of reality.
I am fascinated by the Canada ambiguity or singularity; my heart is torn between British Columbia and Quebec ... but we must recognize that sometimes a number of Quebecois seem like spoiled children or Francophone frustrated. Unfortunately this audible minority expressed just too much like the writer of the article of liberation. For sure, we must defend the French across Canada and not only in Quebec. But, a use of fundamentalism argument or restrictive thinking instead of integration is the bad way to follow. Quebec people must not use historic frustration as weapon instead of tolerance and positive attitude. During this Olympic game Canada does not win medal bilinguals’ gold medal. Fortunately, the sport gathered Quebec and other Canadians athletes in the Olympic spirit of Mister Coubertin
